Comments: Wonderful little route! Would have been a super hard on-sight, but she's a great little project! I think I got lucky, and she fit my style enough to have had to only spend a day in the gash. On the RP, exercise caution to not pitch from the upper 5.9/10 moves! I think Matt has contributed a ton to our community, and this little gem is a great example!

Comments: Howdy Phil (and BJ)

I think the confusion might be due to having only done 1 pitch of a 2 pitch climb? Granted it has been some time since I did it, but I recall the first pitch as being something worth enduring to get to the fun climbing above! (which poses some confusion regarding it being rated as is a solid 5.11 climb with a 5.9+/10- 1st pitch...). The 1st pitch leads to some great and exposed (and well-protected) 5.11 climbing that make Cryogenics a route really worth doing! Besid... more >>

Comments: With fear of distracting this thread from what was accomplished, I humbly agree. I will also argue however that this accomplishment is a very antiseptic and accurate storypole of excatly where our sport is. It was so when Derek soloed The Diamond (x3 in a day), when Croft soloed Astroman, and not dissimiliarly, when Skinner/Piana freed The Salathe. I contend that this, more than most anything going down today, represents for this current generation and for all who follow an absolute line in the ... more >>

Comments: How little reaction this is generating freaks me out as much as his solo! Am I alone in feeling that this is HUGE? The 12 of you who have posted seem to understand the magnitude...this is N.I.A.D., Croft on Astroman, yes, Reardon on R.M...this is the 4 min. mile, this is the freaking moon shot... understand that I do care that another 8' piece of rubble was sent at V16 in the middle of "I could give a crap, America", but it seems that priorities need adjustment when that gets more press than thi... more >>

Comments: For more topos and beta go to BJ Sbarra & Co have put a lot of energy into creating a great area! If you live in the valley and have not been, I really encourage you to. If you are passing thru, I would also encourage you to stop. You will not be disappointed! I truly admire those involved for the vision, hard work, cost and time they have devoted to exposing some great climbing that has been right under our noses! Thanks!

Comments: Very fun climb. Good sampling of what you will get on other routes at Ra. I would say 5.11c as an on-sight grade. Again and as with other routes here, no move may be harder than 5.11a, but these are pretty relentless stretches of rock. I fell off of some holds big enough to set a stool on and churn butter! Great movement, awesome position and really fun climbing!

Comments: Very difficult to on-sight. It would take a very fit and very solid 5.12 climber to on-sight this 5.11 route. No move may be harder than 5.11c/d, but as an on-sight grade I would push it to 5.12a/b.... As stated in the description, holding on (I was able to "on-sight" the crux but fell on ladder rungs and holds big enough to 3 point turn a full-size truck!) is truly the crux. I KNOW I can fall off of 5.10! Amazing position & exposure! Great climb!
