Comments: Excellent! Found every pitch delightful- position and climbing make this one of the best Zion 5.10 routes I've done!...., until 6. When standing on the big foot above the anchor contemplating the ledge fall, both my partner and I decided, like crusty, not to commit to the next move and bailed. We are both very short and were unable to reach the gear that would protect that next move and the climbing seemed tenuous. Neither of us are particularly bold climbers (but did free to there)and we b... more >>

Comments: Totally stellar climbing with mostly good gear,, but there were a few 5.10 do not fall sections. Just my 4.2 cents; you might want to have a good Chance of freeing most of it (or a stronger partner who is!) to enjoy this awesome route. Maybe not the best for a budding 5.10 team....

Comments: climbed in Feb. before closures- top notch! Ethan and Richardss gear beta above right on. I am not a particularly bold climber and found the crack was varied enough that this was more than an adequate rack- even when linking pitches.
also, I would have to be running to do the approach in 2 hours!

Comments: Hey there, just an observation from our months there. In addition to being respectful and kind visitors to the local community, consider respectfully declining wasteful styrofoam and making it clear that animal cruelty is not something tourists support. We saw locals mistreating wild birds and torturing reptiles with their cats. Tourists = money and money talks. We were able to make it clear this was unacceptable in a respectful way (that adjacent shop owners applauded us for!). Just a reminder... more >>

Comments: Did this cool route last sat! However, the big surprise was When I weighted the last chockstone anchor, sand poured from behind it. I couldn't actually see the gigantic block move at all and it appears totally solid, but each time I weighted it the same thing happened. I was concerned enough at the time to downclimb a ways instead of use it..... It rained pretty hard about a week ago. thought it worth a post here as a FYI or to gather more opinions! Great route!!

Comments: Please keep your food contained and supervised!
A trend during our first week there in the applebee campground was
1.) Campers leaving food and trash scattered around camp for later clean up while doing other things.
2.) Small mammals try to eat it.
3.) Climbers kill squirrel/ chipmunk with rock.

Saw this happen twice. The animals are really not that bad at all if you keep your food contained and supervised. No need to kill animals, folks. Keep your food well supervised and don't try to kil... more >>

Comments: Thanks for the perfect route description and work you put into this route- nice find! Mostly clean rock and cool cruxes. Would definitely do this route again.

Comments: woah, not PG13 or R with not a ton of wide gear. I led the wide pitches with a 4 and 5 camelot, felt totally safe (and I'm a wuss- bag). Great route, bring a 4 and/ or 5 and it's delightful. Look for small cracks for little gears.Enjoy! Look for Condors!

Comments: #6 camelots fit "not just good, but good enough." I bumped one #6 BD camelot for most of the way. Would recommend two #6 camelots and a blue big bro. It's many variables of tipped out #6 BD camelots for most of the pitch and beautiful! Just quit reading and do it already!

Comments: Neat new area-crack and face climbin' right together, who'd a thunk! Routes feel very mixed, interesting. Good pro- still some minor loose rock here and there, but nothing a few more ascents won't fix- belay with a helmet and you won't even have to pay attention at all!

Comments: I think that chick is like, wicked totally radical and after ripping a set of "8 minute abs," was about to solo the route but was like, "whatever, I'll totally get a better WORK OUT if I aid up these easy pitches with, like wayyy too much gear that actually doesn't fit." Yeah, that's how it happened. Man, sam is cooool and doesn't suck at all, Zac. Jerk.

Comments: The last pitch rap anchor would really benefit from a replacement if anyone is headed up you might want to bring a bolt kit. 11-10-2010. Enjoy- this route is such a great classic!

Comments: FYI - wallet and iPod stolen out of vehicle while we were not that far away from it. It might have helped if we had locked the car...but thought I'd at least post so others weren't wooed into lethargy by the idyllic beauty of Rifle Canyon....

Comments: and if you see a fixed nut, you are a ways to the right of the beginning of heroes. THAT route is called astrochoss and is not recommended. thought you should know, it's thrown more than one party off route.
