Comments: There is another variation that maybe the original direct line. Start around to the right of the hanging block and left of Numic Warrior in the corner. P1: Climb the corner and exit into a slot/squeeze chimney 20 ft below the roof to a nic flat ledge (5.5) 100 ft. P2: Climb the corner and exit through a slot to a blocky ledge with a huge roof wander up to the right heading for the bush and back into the original line (5.7) 80 ft.

Comments: I thought this route was on the buttress behind (right of the gulley) the photo and did it in 1999, along with One Hand Clapping. Both are good routes and there is a bolted anchor at the top on a nice ledge.

Comments: Rapping the route from pitch 6 is not a good idea. Going over the roof cuts ropes ! The anchors should never have been added.

Comments: Handren - guide gives incorrect info for this climb. Use the info on this site. After the square cut corner there is another 70 ft. of climbing (5.4) up a black corner and 4th class to "Lovers Ledge", where you can do the last pitch of Lazy Buttress or scramble into the gully and go up to the Frogland descent.

Comments: Haven't done the variation but I did link P1 and P2 with doubles and
long runners without too much drag. There is also a great place for
a black (or purple) alien just under the roof, if you don't like the bolt.

Comments: Glad someone else thought this was more difficult than Arrow Place. As a side note on my first attempt I fell on a cliped "fixed" piece at the awkward spot ~ 20' off the deck. Said "fixed" piece popped - fortunately the alien below it held and kept me 5" from the deck. The fixed gear was a home made nut - probably from the original ascent. I managed to go back and bag it the second time but not without a lot of grumbling. It's worth doing once. Side note - I was working on a line in betwee... more >>
