Comments: Wonderful route. Why has it not been upgraded. I have talked with countless people and the most common remark is, "Awesome route. Hardest damn 5.11 in the state, but great!"

Comments: good route! I thought p1 was the crux. p3 was technical, but I never felt pumped where I was horribly pumped on p1. I would give it a solid 10c.

The movement was awesome. The bolting was not quite "sandia" style. Several bolts were less than a foot from decent gear, not great, but decent. Most of the bolts were absolutely essential and I was glad to clip them, but I can see why people are on the chopping path.

The crux bolt was questionable but the next bolt is fairly easy to reach.

P4 most of the blocks below the roof rattle (one came out when I barely touched it). I would highly recommend climbing the face just right of the roof. It pros well with small nuts/tcu's and has quality rock. It probably climbs not much ha... more >>

Comments: Trad climbing is hard to safely learn. Unfortunately for beginning trad climbers routes below 5.7 are often far more terrifying than those 5.10 or harder. For an individual uncomfortable learning to trad climb on anything >5.7, flake n bake is the best alternative. There are no ledges to hit, no loose blocks to avoid, and no run-out sections to overcome. Flake n bake is the only route below 5.8 where I would be comfortable having an aspiring leader take mock falls.
