Comments: With much respect for the first ascensionists and positive comments below - we had a terrible time on this route. I couldn't disagree more with the previous comment regarding "mostly good rock, with mostly fun climbing and mostly safe protection." I would say there were only about 3 pitches with "mostly good rock" and just a few with consistently safe protection. I felt safe on much of the route because I have no trouble onsighting these grades, but I wouldn't recommend climbing Ho Chi Minh Trai... more >>

Comments: Tends to be dirty but fun, memorable movement. Low crux has always felt really hard to me for the grade... I think it's just super tricky, technical movement with holds facing weird directions. Upper sections is rad. Definitely worth climbing!

Comments: I did this route with Anna about a year ago (before Canada's comment) and had a blast! Yes, some of the holds flexed (they're probably gone now...) but I thought the movement was fun and pretty sustained. Sounds like it needs some more cleaning... curious to see what it goes at when the rock has stopped exfoliating!

Comments: Red-pointed to the first anchor back in October - based on other Mt Lemmon climbs near the grade (Red Tide, Rage to Live, Pucker Up...) I'd say the first anchor goes at 13b. It is a challenging, beautiful line on its own. I climbed to the second anchor my first time on the route, in early summer this year, and the boulder problem (crux) just after the first anchor is significantly harder than anything up to that point. Hard to say after all that climbing, but the crux sequence (directly afte... more >>

Comments: Did this route last week and was blown away by how aesthetic the line is. Really nice climbing pitch after pitch. We also didn't agree with grades listed on mtn project but did basically agree with the topo you can find as a photo on this page. Our feeling about grades and some additional comments are below. We climbed as a party of three with one person jugging the harder pitches to carry water/food. We also did the route in 2 days, climbing the first 4 pitches one afternoon and jugging back to... more >>

Comments: Climbed the first 4 pitches yesterday and look forward to doing the rest. We had 60m doubles and were able to rap from top of 4th pitch to top of 3rd, then to 1st and to the ground. The first 4 belays are all bolted (some with combo of fixed gear). There was a rap ring and slings in pretty good shape on 1st and 4th pitches, and two left biners on 3rd. Top of 2nd pitch had only bolts.

This seemed like helpful beta since we didn't know a lot going in and weren't sure how much was bolted and whet... more >>
