Comments: Was here two weeks ago in the beginning of May 2015. It was forecast to be 100F in Phoenix, but it was high 70's and shady all afternoon at the Upper Devils Canyon walls! Perfect summer climbing destination. Surprisingly easy to find, and that's coming from someone who has bad experience route-finding. Some expanded details below though:

The parking lot is at these coordinates: 33.308244, -111.038085. Google Maps has good satellite imagery showing the dirt road to get there. I was able to do th... more >>

Comments: This area isn't too hard to find, if you know where to look. The GPS coordinates were off by almost a mile, causing us to get lost and bushwack around for a few hours before finding it! I've moved the coordinates so they're right on top of the Alien Baby boulder now: 34 52' 20.0"N, 111 45' 13.9"W, or 34.872222, -111.753861.

The pullout on the left you want to park at is dirt and can maybe fit about 3-4 cars max. It's just prior to some therapy place on the right side of the road. Google Maps sh... more >>

Comments: Quick clips are very worn through...not sharp, and I wasn't too concerned about running my rope through them, but they should definitely be replaced sometime soon. Same goes for several other climbs at this crag...this one was probably the worst out of all the ones we climbed though.

Comments: Had some fun on the Dan's Line slab today...thanks for giving us directions down at the road, Ron!
We belayed a little lower down from where you're supposed to I think, down by the dirt and pine trees. A little more comfortable than higher up, and it's in the shade. Two caveats: it's a long way up to the first bolt (but the climbing is easy), and my 70m was getting fairly close to the end when I came back down after setting it up for top roping.
