Oct 18, 2017 - One of the best 5.6's I've done. The movement and technique is fun and the climb changes up a bit especially going to the second anchor. Well protected roof pull. Definitely Gunks style! PG pro on the lower section

Sep 2, 2017 - Felt hard for the grade but I'm still an off-width/crack newbie. Great climb in terms of leaning technique. Has lots of fun moves!

Sep 2, 2017 - Can't wait to lead it next time. The start is the crux. Some awesome thin moves until after the break. Different climb after that, fun layback moves!
The Arete 5.8 5b 16 VI- 15 HVS 4c
Sep 2, 2017 - Definitely a classic, feels easy for the grade. Must lead next time. Crux move is fun! 60m rope got my leader down to the gully on the left. I was able to rap down to the bottom.

Climbed 9/1/17. See previous photo for p1-p3. We did the middle section in two long run-out pitches. Be careful of the larger loose blocks and smaller choss. Once up on lunch ledge get ready for the two money pitches!  My partner and I climbed this route on 9/1/17. You can break the pitches up into whatever length works for you. The first and last two pitches have a preferred (obvious) line. Pitch 3 was confusing at first. We went up right and then left, guessing this was the weakness in the overlap. Once on top going left it becomes run-out but is low angle friction slab for 15-20 feet.
