Comments: Fun day out. The first unprotected moves onto the first ledge seemed more than 4th class to me, but maybe I was missing something. Watch those rocks on the 1st belay spot!
  • *That squeeze!! If you are even slightly barrel chested, good luck here! A #4 protects the first part of P2 perfectly. Don’t bring a lot of gear on a sling or, yes, you WILL get caught up in that squeeze hole.

Comments: A nice high rock ladder climb. Agree that it is a perfect beginner TR spot with lots of variations. Beautiful solo. Winter sun. That anchor block though? hmmm...

Comments: Amazing route for sure. After a heady start to the first bolt (stick clip is really nice to have) the moves get really nice and flow beautifully.

***The "Anchor" on this one is a throw-over hook for the right bolt and a piece of bent metal with a stuck carabiner that is 3/4 cut through for the left...gulp! Make sure and check the conditions of this anchor before going ground up unless you wanna just top it out and walk off. I could not get that degraded biner out to replace it

Comments: Just a quick historical comment. Pretty sure I did this problem many, many years ago if it is the one with softball sized river rocks in the landing zone and an undercut alcove at the bottom...?

Comments: Pumpy climb! I had a great time being reminded of what Non-Crack climbing feels like in the forearms. As usual with Queen creek pockets, on this route, don't look for whats perfect, look for what quickly works.

Comments: This is a really great warm-up if you haven't done pockets for a while. Also a perfect New Climber route. When looking at the Pocket pow-wow wall, just look right(east) at the rounded arete.

Comments: There is a 2 bolt anchor with a sling at the top of this climb. There was not a rap ring so we did the walk off. Next time I'm back, don't know when that will be, I will replace the sling and add a ring. Chil and Fun 5.7
P.S. I also believe that it is on the SOUTH/West part of the hill, not the north

Comments: On pitch 5 (or if you link...then pitch 4), make sure that after the 2nd bolt, you go RIGHT of the bulge to hit the belay. I skirted left, missed the belay completely, and did a "nice" simul-climb with my partner for about 100 ft to the next anchor. P.S. Don't be fooled by the bright pink sling about 50 feet above that second bolt, I thought it was the anchor and it ended up looking like someone had jammed a pencil in the rock and tied a sling to it!

Comments: WOW! Awesome climb. I thought...yeah right, this start doesn't look slippery. Whoops, fell on my first piece when my foot slipped. Over compensate the # of draws that you think. Does a #5 really protect that squeeze? I had a 4 that I definitely couldn't use. Watch for HUGE drag at the top (big sling?). Careful to stay left on the repel or face a bad edge.

Comments: I know it's not the hardest thing to grunt through, but shouldn't this line get a little more respect than 5.3? The two roofs on the second pitch are definitely strong climbing moves.

Comments: Fun one!! If your tall enough (around 6 feet) and you don't mind getting feet a little high, I don't think that this is too finger size dependent. You can hit tiny finger tips low, or get a much wider bottleneck up higher. (If i'm remembering correctly)

Comments: Be EXTREMELY cautious about the parking lot here. I have seen one and heard of another break-in and this Sunday was a victim myself. Smashed window and stolen items.
