Comments: Hey, thanks David! I know this route gets a lot of sand after a wet year, so thanks for the props.

Comments: Reminded again today how uber-classic this excursion is.

Pitch 2-3/1-2? are so long and so good! In our assessment the best of the bunch.

Thanks Austin & Rick!

Comments: Only did this one to The Gift anchors, but fun moves and unique (lower?) crux.

Definitely be back to do the full run.

Comments: Climbed this one today with friends. Fun route with an intimidating start. I think I would stick-clip the second bolt in the future to avoid the issue with the slippery lay-back past the first bolt.

Fun climbing, and a little bit of everything on this one! We nicknamed the traverse/step-down past the second bolt the "twinkle-toes traverse". LOL.

Also, top-roped the "Tower of the Hand" (to "The Gift" anch... more >>

Comments: Thanks for the feed-back - I will probably try and re-configure the anchor set-up so an 80-meter rope will reach the ground while leading.

Comments: I concede your point, Old5ten.

There is a ledge, yes. Our original intent was a 5.9 with an "PG" scramble to the transition to the face. The lower part seemed good as a lead option.

The sport route to the left also has ledge-fall potential.

People should be careful.

Comments: Super fun route! Varied, exposed & engaging!

I agree with Karen - the finishing dihedral felt like it had some .10a moves, as well as the sustained & heady nature of the climb.

Nice work, Kelly! A very unique route for the Gorge! Reminds me of Gangsta Lean...

Comments: An interesting varied climb that is actually well bolted with positive holds. The loose rock up top gives it a bit of a downgrade. Hopefully it will clean up with time.

I'd advise a good yank to clear the rope when you pull it. We got ours badly stuck up in the notch.

Comments: Agree that the last bolt is not ideal.

Move the bolt? Add one more bolt above the transition?

Feedback welcome - thanks for your thoughts, Todd

Comments: "I'd also give this climb a PG13 rating..."

FYI, you can easily stem back onto the ledge if you have any trepidation climbing or clipping "on the face" anywhere during the first three bolts.
