Comments: Follow ice pillar to ceiling, pull through (or traverse left), continue up past two ledges and then follow the shallow crack using hooks on the moss-covered face (behind small tree).

Comments: From my foggy recolection, with Matt and Ken R on 12/16/2015

In All Probability, 5.7-8? - is the arete (boulder start leads to slab climbing)
Vulnerability, 5.9-10? - is the line up the middle (several variations to top out on)
Sustainability is to the climber's right of Vulnerability

Comments: 3/2/2015 - not kidding, there was a Dead Deer near the base of Dead Deer Gully. Coincidence?

Comments: NJ. Access is sensitive and questionable. Best climbed when the leaves are in so nobody sees us. I'm a local. PM me for more info.

Comments: 12-23-2014, new rap anchor. top-out and on the right hand side there's a purple static rope at the tree (it is also connected to a larger tree behind it).

Comments: 11/2/2014 - The old quick links in the bolted anchors were replaced with a wire-gate biner w/ an aluminium ring and a new quick link with an aluminum ring. Aluminum Rap Rings should be replaced by the next party going up, if possible.

Comments: Above the face with Jason's Crack, Princeton Crack, and Blairstown Crack there are two new bolts. I did not install them, but came across them on 4/13/2014. A very long static rope is still required to get the master point of an anchor over the ledge (I used a 60ft static rope and still needed to throw in about 10 feet of cordage). This was a good edition, consider the trees up there are in bad shape and most people don't carry 100+ feet of static rope just to top-rope a 50 foot face.

Comments: For every 3-4 moves there's a good resting stance. The crux is near the top, a stemming smear below a roof, and then move right. Route is listed as M3 in the Third Edition of the Catskills Ice Guide. I climbed with route with Alan Kline (who has the first ascent) and he felt conditions that day made it more of an M5. Mostly protects with cams, large stoppers, pitons, and a pecker was used towards the top in some turf between rocks.

Comments: Route is supposed to go left, around the ceiling, towards that bowl opening (lots of loose rock). If you go right (bushes were cleaned) it's a bit of a thin slab, with decent pro, before reaching the arete.

Comments: Ok climbing with decent pro and stances. Pull through the notch and it's 20 feet of loose fourth class with no protection until a rap tree.
