More information:
I am an academic by profession and have been a motivated recreational climber since I 2010. I live in Mumbai and regularly sport-climb here.

I started climbing in 2010 when I lived in Switzerland. I have climbed in most of the major areas of the Alps, and as a visiting climber in Frankenjura, Mallorca, Squamish (BC), Indian Creek, Moab (Utah), Rifle and Eldo (Colorado). In India I have rock-climbed extensively in and around Bangalore, and briefly in Manali and Leh.

I am planning to take a year-long sabbatical in the US/Europe starting late 2018 and am on a lookout for long term climbing partners, be it for ice or rock depending on the season.

My best climb:
Deepavali, thanks my climbing partner Samiran, one of India's leading trad climbers.

I lead 6a on alpine sport routes and 6c on well-bolted sport crags/Plaisir climbing; hope to be pushing into lower 7's/5.12's by next year.

Trad/crack climbing: 5b-6a. I have a rack and moderate experience.

Alpinism: I have led AD (e.g. Biancograt, Piz Bernina) and followed classic north faces such as Tour Ronde N Face (D). Limited water-fall ice experience.

In general, I have a tilt towards endurance. I don't boulder; I enjoy long routes. I am not a seeker of Type-2 fun; I am a fair-weather climber. Safe, relaxed climbing in a fun atmosphere is what I seek.

I weigh ~53kgs.
