Comments: Really fun route. I found P2 difficult if you climb the face left of the bolt line. I found climbing right of the bolt line on the arete to be significantly easier.

Also, I concur with Hiro's comment above - we had a single 60m rope, and there was no way it would reach from the top of P2 anchors to the intermediate (just below the roof) anchors. So descending for us required 3 rappels: top P2 -> top P1, top P1 -> intermediate anchors, intermediate -> ground.

Comments: What a stellar route! Seems popular, and deservedly so - good idea to get there early!

A few notes:

P1: the bulge may look intimidating but makes for a super fun layback - don't be tempted to try and wedge into the chimney! The move can be protected with a #4 Camalot (or maybe a #5?), but these big cams won't be of much use above this point.

P2: fun moves off the ledge. I found the pro to be a little run out in parts but over sections of easy climbing.

P3: we went left. Awesome fins/... more >>

Comments: Fun little spot to check out on cold days or when everything down-canyon is overrun. The hardware looks brand new, and the climbs are pretty clean. Too bad the approach, while short, is kinda sketchy--we were constantly worried about kicking off loose rocks onto the road or parked cars (note: don't park close to the approach trail!). There are cairns marking the best route, but they're difficult to see on the way in--the return trip was a lot easier.

Comments: Really fun route! The dihedral start is the highlight in my opinion.

Note: this route shares the chains with Rising Sun (5.9+). Both routes can be easily done with a 60m rope if you rap/lower to the lower (left) end of the ramp - we had several meters to spare. However, if you decide to lower straight down to below the ramp (not sure why you would), it would indeed require a 70m rope.

Comments: Climbed this on 2/27/2016 in fat conditions. Avy risks were relatively low, but there were still a lot of wind-loaded pockets, so we decided to not walk off the top as described in the beta photo. Instead, we were able to rap off a tree near the top of P1 (there was some newish looking cord there... we added some new webbing anyhow). We were just barely able to make it down in one rap using a single 70m rope. Even with the rappel, it still makes for a LONG day.
