Comments: A few thoughts, just to clarify any confusion if your researching the route on other websites.
-Get off shuttle or park at the Lodge. Head slightly south to bridge over the river.
-Once across the bridge, the trail comes to a "T", Head south (Go Left). Other sites say follow signs to the middle Emerald pool Trail (which goes Right), I do not recommend this way.
-Follow the horse trail a few minutes and you'll come to a trail that as of 5/2017 has a sign that says the trail is clo... more >>

Comments: I would second the notion that " The face climbing up top is a little "spicy"". I found it to be the most taxing of the whole route. Stiff 5.8.

Comments: A beautiful climb, helpful to have a shoe that covers the ankles, I used some la sportiva Kalkulators - high tops, not mandatory, but helpful. Five star route.

Comments: This route really is two pitches as there is a low angle, not be taken too lightly, slab route that has to be climbed in order to gain the alcove. Definitely worth doing if in the area.

Comments: As the commenter above noted... as of today, 10/24/15 the large loose stone is still in the same spot, very wobbly and lots of dangerous potential. watch for it.

Comments: Easy 5.6 that protects extremely well. Nuts and a couple of 0.75, make it go without effort. I used the first horizontal for the anchor and it was bomber with a .75, 1 (x2) and a 2. Will come back and climb again.

Comments: Straight forward climbing - fun, easy, not 5.9 in my opinion. Walked off left (East) and thought it to be very easy, nice trail with cairns. 3rd class, one 4th class move, and much much faster than trying to rap the route.

Comments: The "so called crux", I didn't think was the crux as the climbing was consistent and it protected well. As Idaho Bob stated there a multiple options for passive gear. Fun route, definitely worth jumping on.

Comments: Guys and Ghouls is listed on the beta photo but not on the main page.
Warmed up on it and thought it to be 5.6ish. Nice two bolt anchor in patina with quick links on it. This anchor is shared with the Sport route leading up the face that looked 5.hard.

Thanks for the beta photo .

Comments: Any new updates on the above photo? Does that area have a name? I climbed the sport route that is immediately to the right of the blind arch, 7 - 8 bolts to a nice chained anchor - somewhere in the 5.6 range

Comments: first pitch is bolted, for the 2 and 3rd pitch we didn't place anything bigger than a #2 BD, This route protects well with a small rack - keep it light and you'll be happy you didn't haul all that extra gear.
