Comments: Did the 5.9 variation today, it looks like the freeze/thaw claimed a chunk of rock recently and now there are a few blocks just balancing on a ledge... I might suggest the chimney for now.

Comments: If you haven't yet try to traverse the lip on the left side of this picture. I tried it and I know at least one person has climbed it, it was one of the better things that was done when I climbed at Clough.

Comments: I'm really glad someone else found an interest in this place. A few friends and I climbed there back around '07 to '09 ish and the pins on top of what you call Mammoth rock had been there a quite a while before that I'm sure. I remember going to check out the cliffs once, but I don't think we actually climbed anything that day, ha. Have fun out there!

Comments: Personally I can't consider this grade IV even with the hike... ~1 hour from car to crag, 5 hours to the summit and back to the bags, and ~1.5 hours back to the car. We moved at a relaxed pace the whole time making for what I would consider an "average" speed.

Depending on skill level, experience, and cojones the most supplemental gear I would bring would be a single run of cams 0.3 to 0.75 and a run of stoppers. More experienced and bold climbers could get away without any extra gear, but pitc... more >>

Comments: Nothing against Bill, but more likely he couldn't tell the difference. He gave "Songline" 12.b/c and "Inferno" 5.12+ a similar grade, but those two both held their grade. Bill was far ahead of his time in the area; only putting in a couple of attempts before moving on to a new route, send or not.

Comments: FA Bill Dockins and Kristen Drumheller, July 1991. Originally given 5.12c! Now considered one of the first 5.13s in Bozeman.
