Comments: Was very close to sending this route years ago but always fell at the crux move (right hand crimp move to left hand slopey sidepull). Had heard the crux right hand hold broke but was skeptical that it would make the move that much harder. Well, it definitely is harder, ha. All good, routes change over time and that's OK. But it definitely is a harder move. For those who have never been on this, you won't ever know! For those who have, you can share i... more >>

Comments: As an FYI for anyone who has worked or is working the route, on about 2/7/16 someone broke the first left hand hold after the 4th bolt. It was a shallow pocket (what some might call the first move of the lower crux) and is now a much more positive (and felt bigger too) two-finger. Definitely makes the move feel easier. Not a grade-changing hold break but a noticeable one for that section. For those trying to send, you now have a slightly better chance. :-)

Comments: Just a friendly comment/opinion about the parking at the Pond area. It is best (especially on a busy day) to angle your car toward the gully and park side by side as opposed to parking nose to bumper...the latter allows less cars. Think of it like you would in a parking lot as opposed to a Starbucks drive-thru line. Normally the first 2-3 cars of the day help dictate the parking but in today's case I was the 9th in line and had no choice but to follow suite. Thanks!

Comments: Probably solid 12a given the easy section in the middle. Definitely wanders right but a cool route nonetheless. 70m rope a must.
  • For cleaning you'll want to feed the rope left to right through the anchor biners, lowering the rope down to the belayer. Tie in on the left side and have your belayer lower you, cleaning draws as you work your way left. Clip into both chain draws so you lower straight down the first section of the route, remembering to clip into the leaver bi...

Comments: Got on this route for the first time this weekend and really enjoyed the route! Independent line of its own IMO. Anyone know of any plans (soon) to add a couple bolts to this line so it continues straight up to its own set of anchors? That would be great. Cool line.

Comments: Updated Directions

1.) From the 87, turn east onto the AZ-99
2.) Travel for 5.9 miles. At 5.9 miles you will see a road on the left called Territorial. Directly after that will be a cattle guard. Cross the cattle guard and you will see an immediate turnoff onto a dirt road on your RIGHT.
3.) This dirt road will parallel a barbed wire fence on your right. Follow this dirt road for 0.6 miles. At this point you will see an obvious dirt road heading LEFT. Take that.
4.) Follow this dirt road ... more >>
