Blistered Toe. The right-facing corner below the crack is the direct start (5.9+(+)). The usual creaky-flake start is just to the left of the photo, and traverses in over the direct start.

Comments: I followed this route early on in my climbing career, and felt foolish for how long I stood there before executing the move.

I followed this move last weekend, some 20 years later, and still felt foolish for how long I still stood there before executing the move.

Lots of good climbing on the first pitch, though.

Comments: Much cleaner now, and a high-quality route, I thought. Lots of good moves.

Comments: This is one or two decent moves, with mediocre pro at best, sandwiched by 40' of licheny 5.0 slab.

It seemed obvious to me that the one or two decent moves are finished by grabbing the tree, since there were no other holds and the tree is rather in the way, but neither the guide nor this entry mention using the tree. YMMV.

Comments: I really agree with Abdullah - four stars, and a must for any 5.8 leader. Of the many I've climbed at Josh, this one sticks out in my memory.

Comments: This area is not really 4 routes: it is two (short) routes with the opportunity to cross between them.

Very sunny and pleasant on a winter's day, but perhaps not a sole destination for the day.

Comments: I found the overlap on this to be well harder than anything on 'Here'. Pleasant route, although short.

Comments: The awkward start reminded me of a few mid-10s, and the climbing did not improve thereafter.

Also not a great route on 2nd - the bolts and the anchor are consistently to the side of the climbing, such that on TR you're always looking at a swing around the buttress. Just, awkward.

Comments: This is a really high-quality route, with good climbing the entire length of it.
