Comments: "Can someone remove Raddam6's comment? I'm not sure why he felt the need to use derogatory language (during pride weekend no less) but it is completely inappropriate for this site and not what the Index community is about."

Thanks James. I hadn't noticed the derogatory nature so much as the incomprehensible and rambling nature of it. So, there it went.

Comments: Maybe Dante. But I'm guessing that this thing is more like a 12++, so it is consistent with many FAs of that grade. I am sure Michal can go back on it now and place them on lead.

Incredible line.
I think my shoulders would be instantly destroyed if I tried it, so I'm fine just looking at it.

It looked great. Thanks Marty.

It also looks hard for a 10a .

Comments: Oops. I meant to have linked the slightly larger red-handled brush in the link, as it is now the standard Index brush and closer to the Japanese ones I have. Mine has a bent handle to keep the knuckles away from the rock. Both will get inside finger cracks though, an important thing for most Index routes.

Indeed, it is an amazingly tough workout to fully clean a route top-down. I'm pretty toasted after just two hours. It is nice if one can go ground up.

Comments: Yes, early starts are the best way to go, even without the snakes.

Comments: Hardcore!

At Index, we tend to do all the brushing while rapping. But ever use a smaller-area brush? I've found them much easier to use than the type in the photo.

I still have a supply of small-area brushes from Japan, but others buy roughly similar ones at Harbor Freight: ,

Do they also have an air-conditioned type? I imagine one's feet may get hot in those.

Comments: Thanks David for the details about Quin. Climbing has a lot of interesting characters, but even amongst this lot, Quin stood out. To survive all those falls, he must have also had a uniquely strong ability to survive.

Comments: This used to have a bolt in the middle of the face and was rated 5.10d. I think it also had a pin near the end, in the crack that traverses left.

Comments: On May 25, 2017, a climber reported that crucial flakes at the start of pitch 2 or 3 (the crux traverse pitch) came off, making the route harder and possibly leaving behind loose rock. So, use caution on this pitch.

Comments: Hi Miles. Thanks - you're right. I removed that marker. But it would definitely help potential climbers of the route to have some additional info other than grade and neighboring routes.

The upcoming changes to Mt. Proj. are said to have more encouragement about inputting bolt count (probably the second-most important number for a sport route after the grade).

Comments: Oh man, if only we could get Mr. Dawes to visit.
Perhaps he could do some of these slab routes without using his hands-

Comments: Thanks Andrew.

No, no spelling concerns -- I added ? to mark the route as needing more info. Hopefully, it doesn't seem too much, but Mt. Project doesn't yet have a system for marking routes. Perhaps in the major upgrade that is coming later this year.

It's a nice route name.

Comments: This is nice.

We used to do no-hands problems a lot, but I don't see that much these days (Johnny Dawes, excepted).
