Comments: That's too bad Geoff. Originally, I had thought that this was the gem of the Inner Wall.

Another route I thought was super great was Delusions of Grandeur, but that one also was reclaimed by moss. The two best lines there are now the two most neglected.

Comments: The first "piece of pro" in this case was the roughly 1-foot-thick layer of fresh moss at the base. Knowing of the temporary nature of this nice landing, I went back soon thereafter and just soloed it. (It is a short climb anyway.)

Comments: Do you mean that the anchor hangers spin?
If so, was this just an issue about tightening the nut?

Comments: Sky Valley Rock lists ' Vanessa Del Rio 5.12c PG between Sportfishing and Everest. Maybe that is one of the lines you saw?

Looks like a fair amount of potential new routes over there.

Comments: It looks like the map now shows the right GPS coordinates, at least roughly.
Thanks for the approach map link.

Comments: Wow, that wall looks like it could have a lot of steep routes -- pretty spot as well. I'm looking forward to hearing about routes there and am psyched to visit.

Comments: Looks like a great section of wall. There appears to be a few arete or rib routes or potential routes.

Comments: Thanks Jim, I corrected the FA info here.

You, and anyone who climbs it, can give it a rating. The rating shown here will reflect the consensus once enough people provide their rating.

Comments: 1) What is the evidence that nutrition directly affects the knees?
(I had a knee injury and surgery, but none of the three MDs nor the physical therapist ever mentioned food or nutrition.)

2) Are there any reliable studies about the best way to land?
You mention "knees bent", which certainly seems correct, but beyond that advice, has this been examined in detail?

Comments: So that huge orangish thing with twine hanging down is a bag of cheese snacks? They must be some kind of great snack.

Before I glanced at the title, I thought it was cleaning or bolting gear for new routing.

Comments: You mean details? Sorry, I hadn't heard of deets before...

Well, the prior comment was more of a joke.
But Eric Hirst and I rapped down the wall a while back, and he scoped out a hard face line center-right, but decided not to pursue it. Further left, I tried a few jams on a short tips crack at the top, and pledged to return to see if the bottom face section would go. That speculative line was dubbed the above name.

Comments: Thanks-
I haven't climbed Rainier, or any other NW volcano, in decades, but I don't recall seeing anything like this (just some fairly oblate sun cups). Wow, three-feet high would be tough to walk through. It would be interesting to hear of anyone else's observations.

Comments: Wow, that's an amazing story. Thanks Colin. An actual 'bobcat in a bar' incident! But sad to hear about the man's ear and the end of the bobcat. The poor fellow just wanted to enjoy his martini in peace, without all the paparazzi.

Comments: Interesting how that mountain in the foreground catches a narrow shaft of red light. At first I thought it was some sort of double exposure. Nice pic.
