Comments: That's nice it goes on all gear.
Darryl and I had thought that a bolt might be needed at the crux.

Fun slab moves down low with easy moves at the start to warm up. Glad to know that the whole thing is clean now. Am looking forward to hearing about other new routes in the area. Lots of potential up there.

Comments: A variation on the classic Beckey-Bjornstad photo. Nice.

I haven't been here in years and didn't know they had such signs.

Comments: One of the developers of this area is Bryan Burdo. Several of the routes at least were put up in the early-to-mid 80s. But I don't know if they appear in any printed guidebook.

I went up there in the 80s with some verbal description of the routes and did a few. I can't remember much about them except it is a nice location. Hopefully the hikers above don't knock anything down and some of the bolts have been upgraded.

Nice pics of the area. Thanks for posting them Aaron.

But what is DEA?

Comments: Any idea how a crystal would cause any of those effects? The colors I suppose are from diffraction, but the rays, the ring, and the inner circle?

Also, is that on a separate formation?

Perhaps you could write out what you mean by "SR"? (Protection)

Comments: Sounds great, Marty.

That region left of the corner is looking very clean these days. It will be interesting to try 11b friction.

Does it start in the groove, together with End Run?

Comments: Thanks Alex. I imagine most climbers or slackliners would not even have thought of the issue you raised.

One question: In your 3rd paragraph, you write "probably underwater now". But at the end, you say you removed them. So, do know of bolts that remain?

Now, we have easily removeable bolts called the Titen HD. The zinc-plated ones are only about one dollar for 3-5" long 3/8th diameter. Few climbers know about them, but they might be a good choice for whoever installed the one... more >>
