Comments: Sorry to hear about the injury.

But I do not understand the rest of the caption. The photo seems to show a crack, not a ramp. And are you suggesting taking a different way here?

It looks like you are putting it back together again.

Comments: Perhaps it needs Mason Earle's barefoot approach. The crack size sounds tough indeed, particularly for foot jamming.

Comments: Fantastic photo.

But is that rock properly called a "boulder"?
It seems like much of it may be buried underground, unlike most rocks that I would call a boulder (which sit on top of dirt or other rocks).

Just wondering if people have other terms for such formations.

Of course, for the purpose of bouldering, it is the same as the standard boulder.

Comments: Yes, it's a fantastic website too.

About the purple text, perhaps black text with white background? It would sacrifice the image behind the text, but that can't be seen well anyway. Anyway, my preferences are a bit old-fashioned -- of course, others might prefer the purple.

Comments: Very nice, thanks.

The purple text is a little hard to read though. Have you tried using the Mt. Proj. overlay feature?

Comments: Must be pretty exciting hooking on concrete, and with grounder potential.

It's nice though to have the variety.

Comments: One of my favorite pieces (that and the RP of about the same size).

To set one of these snugly in a crack feels so nice. It means "Time to go for it."

Comments: I'm with you on getting the easier stuff up. They are usually much, much more work to clean off, but way more of us can enjoy them.

Am looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for the work-

Comments: That's impressive that this line was never cleaned, yet still gets nearly four stars.

The route just right of it wasn't cleaned either, but has a pretty low rating.

I imagine then that it would only take one person a few hours or less to brush Normandy up and send it to the top. It's harder to clean an overhanging line, but with gear in place and a comfortable big-wall harness, it should be quite easy.

Comments: I recall placing only one bolt in the layback section, a weird thing with a funky lead sleeve that Darryl had. Placing a 3/8th was hard work, particularly on a steep wall, and probably took most of an hour. When it is like that, you tend to be restrictive about placements (or switch to 1/4" bolts).

Comments: It appears that they are top-rope routes, so I don't think they ever were bolted.

Comments: Some Daiso stores have them for $1.50, but I think the blades are thinner. I've also seen them at Hardwick's in Seattle's University District.

Comments: It should be fine for boulderers to improve the landings as long as the work involves materials from the vicinity. In fact ABWise's work should be applauded.

If it becomes an issue with some third-party land manager, it will matter zilch as to whether the work was done by the FA party or not.

Check out The Engineer at Index for an example of folks doing extensive modifying of the landing. I thought it impressive, and all with nearby woody fragments.

Comments: I remember the moment. Greg says "Hold on, I'll get a shot." And I'm super gung-ho, not wanting to wait, seeing a good stance about 15 feet up to place the next piece.

Your photos for this route are fantastic. I'm psyched to try it.

Correction: It is all yours. Of course, I don't mind if you delete any or all that I wrote for the route description etc.

Comments: The route has vastly changed and improved since I first posted it.

I'd happily transfer "ownership" of this page to someone on the "new FA" team so you can easily update it. Derek? Michal? Ryan?
