Comments: I have done the line just left of this on solo TR a few times... fun, balancy climbing up the clean, blank face. I usually go straight up the face to the overlap up top into a mantle then climb the blocks to a gear anchor. The rock on this section of cliff is quite good.

Comments: Is this Rackless? If so then Fasulo has it at 5.6 with no gear rating. Did it today and would not want to fall on gear behind those flakes. The horizontal cracks are good though.... both of them. Like many other routes here It could benefit from a good scrubbing but overall the climbing was very good..

Comments: The face I am referring too is the nice, clean face/steep slab to the right of the finger crack that somebody recently started cleaning. I actually climbed the line again a few times this week, and it's probably more like 5.8... hard to grade things so early in the season. It has a nice mantle problem to exit onto a ledge then some easy 5th class to gain a gear anchor in a small horizontal. Just wish it was taller... flawless climbing and pretty sustained for the whole length until after the... more >>

Comments: Pretty much the way I did it.... If this was at Crow Hill, it would be gang-roped every weekend.... Seriously good route.

Comments: It's a fun little crag for sure.... I had noticed on my last solo TR session that somebody else had been cleaning routes. Did a nice, steep face on the far right a little under 30 feet tall. Amazing holds and movement... cruxy and maybe stiff 5.9.

I talked to some locals about this place a while back, and nobody had any route info. It seems like a place that has seen a lot of TR traffic in years past but not much else.

Comments: Curious about the FA information posted here.... Boston Rocks (1st ed.) has limited information.

Comments: Best route at the crag with excellent rock. The crux is a bit height-dependent and felt similar in difficulty to The Fool at Crow.

Comments: I generally just solo the thing. Only committing move is down low. Does not climb like a crack at all. Fun but pretty easy. The tall block down at the Forty Caves area is much better for a quick TR.

Comments: From trailhead, take right onto blue trail. It's in the woods about 100 ft off trail right before a boulder against the trail.

Comments: Really nice route with absolutely perfect rock! Shame it is not a bit longer. Well worth the 5 min hike in.

Comments: Could still use a scrubbing. Can probably make it harder by moving right toward the top.

Comments: Good little crag to have in the neighborhood. Decent face climbing on small, positive edges. If you visit the crag, try to keep a low profile, as the Powder House on top of the cliff is a historical landmark for the town. Town Hall is also right at the bottom of the hill. I have never been bothered here except by the occasional MTB rider bombing down the hill near the cliff.

Comments: The boulder across the yellow trail from this boulder has two very nice problems on it. The arete is probably V2 stand or V3 sit. The ramp is probably V2 with bad fall potential.

Comments: Good problem if you avoid the face holds. Nice variety of finger locks to play with. If you avoid all face holds, you could make it 5.8. Good quality rock and a very nice crack. Just too damn short!

Comments: 2nd roof is called Blow Up (5.9). Makes a great 2nd mini-pitch for any of the Main Face routes. Protects well.

Comments: The lone bolt on Ladybug has seen better days and could probably stand to be replaced. Also one of the anchor bolts above the practice face has a bit of movement in it.

Comments: Sorry about that. This was meant to be added under Garfield Woods. I guess that is what I get for adding stuff at 2 AM from a smartphone. Can an admin move this to the Garfield Woods page or just delete it, and I will re-submit.

Comments: I have always finished via the Chimney. One of my favorite easy routes in MA. Fun moves with great gear the whole way. The Nose makes a fun finish as well.
