Comments: Guidebook has this as a 4 pitch climb, somehow we did it as 5 pitches by traversing too far left on pitch 3 and ending at bolted anchors for another climb then belaying there before climbing back a bit (though this probably made rope drag easier in the end). The description here is missing the last pitch. Pitch 4: From the (bolted) belay at the top of the 3rd pitch, head upwards over slabby 5.3ish terrain to a large block at the base of a small vertical section leading to a ledge. Comments: Spent 2 days climbing here in November 2014. Some really fun stuff but doesn’t look like it gets a lot of action – lots and lots of cleaning sand / dirt out of holds, spider webs on routes and, in one case, bats flying out of crack... which would be interesting enough as is, but it was also the crack I was climbing! Some of the hardware looked a bit dicey (missing bolts on a few routes, a few weird aluminium anchors, most of it was fine though) and at least a few climbs had err... interesting.... more >>

Comments: Spent 2 days climbing here in mid-November 2014. As mentioned above, the rock is pretty good – fun climbs on mostly solid-feeling holds – and all the fixed gear looked safe. There is now a guide for the area available from the Mondragon climbing gym (facebook.com/pages/Muro-de-Esc... ) for 50 pesos (~ US$4, they also sold chalk if you’re running low). The guide is pretty much just route lines drawn on photos with the grade and number of bolts, but ... more >>
