Comments: None of the anchors are easily accessible from above. The best way to access the anchors is by climbing the routes!

Comments: Yeah I had to take socks and shoes of for that one. I never tire of this hike!

Comments: General consensus is that it is harder - what grade would you give it?

Comments: the boulder is perhaps 200ft down the slope from the trail.

Comments: The sit start feels harder (V4) now with breakages. The stand start is more like the V2.

Comments: Nice pic. I got a similar one over Glen Coe last winter Photo.

Comments: Rebolted a few years ago the new bolts are located on the right side of the arete, unlike the old bolts which were on the left.

Comments: When driving it can be easy to miss the first left turn after about a mile. If you take the right fork, you could find yourself all the way at pocketopia.

Comments: A wierd route that has an odd traverse. A more direct finish (or start for that matter) would appear to be more logical.

Comments: After a tricky start (chimney style or a long move of the large undercling - harder), easy climbing up the face. For some great slab moves make sure you stay direct after the last bolt up to the anchors.

Comments: the crux is the very first move up onto the slab. Stacking pads or standing on a snow bank is clearly off!

Comments: I wouldn't say it is up the left side. He is right up the center of Serengeti.

Comments: Looks very similar to Problem B. You can make it an independent problem by climbing the sharp arete direct at about the same grade.

Comments: The climbing up the smooth wall is fingery and engaging.

Comments: The new guide is really good. Well laid out and full of the usual info you want. It also has plenty of color pictures which really make you want to get out and climb at the quarry.

Comments: The crux sequence on this problem is high of the deck and feels very insecure - scary!

Location: California > Inland Empire > Mount Rubidoux > Half Moon Area > Half Moon Boulder - North > Problem B (V2 PG13)

Comments: The crux is at the bottom, but the landing isn't easy to protect, so it gets a PG13. The top moves are fairly straightforward.

Location: California > Inland Empire > Mount Rubidoux > Half Moon Area > Harrison Boulder > Cherry Dip Scoop (5.10b V1 PG13)

Comments: High and not the best landing means pads and spotters definitely recommended.

Comments: Crux is low down gaining the large spike hold, but leaving the scoop focuses the mind.

Location: California > Inland Empire > Mount Rubidoux > Island Area > Street Boulder > Franklin Street (V2+)
By: Euan Cameron When: Jan 23, 2012

Comments: The crux sequence in the middle of the problem is the right hand/foot match, but the holds are sharp and the top is fairly easy with a good solid flake for the hands to grasp.

Location: California > Inland Empire > Mount Rubidoux > Island Area > Island Wall Boulder > Matt (V4 PG13)
By: Euan Cameron When: Jan 23, 2012

Comments: It is possible to start this from the right by standing on the pedestal, stepping up leftwards onto the slab to gain the middle as per the original. This start is probably V3.

Comments: This can be a frustrating problem as the hardest moves are the starting ones. Especially when the well chalked up rail looks so promising from first glance.
