● Reed's Pinnacle-Direct Route
Apr 19, 2024 · Lead / Onsight. lead p1 - 5.9 was cruiser easy hand jams. p2 - followed Yuchen clean w effort - long hands/fist crack, wide fist finish. Could lead? (10a hands?) bled on it. p3 - uhh, went for 5.8 squeeze behind pinnacle - traversed into the darkness of wide chimney, a cool breeze. At piton, went up w 2 dirty finger cracks, built an anchor and brought Yuchen in, b/c shitting myself. He placed a tiny cam and continued higher - distal opening didn't fit his head, he worked up to a hand crack (#2) and exitted back onto 10a OW side, couldn't finish (Fell). Shenanigans - 2 pitons up there, I lowered him outside crack, he belayed me up to clean, and I squirmed back out, defeated. dropped my phone.

Apr 18, 2024 · 6 pitches. Lead / Onsight. Bailed after finishing p6 b/c horsetail fall blowing ice cold rain over. Shivering, kinda epic (w Yuchen), left gear. Yuchen unlocked p1 (STOUT ow finish), p2 (HARD 10b move - french freed); p3 - airy 5.6 arete & p4 (p5 - STOUT roof -YL, don't lead), I did p6 - airey arete, left hand-finger crack to STOUT L-angle crack (keep right foot in crack/ramp)
