Approach map for Gertch's Arch. All of the lines show cairn-marked, largely cat's-class-free trails. Starting from Topp Hut, the blue line is the Gertch's Folly trail and the yellow lines are two equally good options for reaching Gertch's Arch.  Looking down from about halfway up P2. Bees thankfully below us and paying no attention to us.  A photo edited shortly after the first attempt to climb the route. It's possible the bees were agitated by my bright orange shirt on that day, because they were not a problem on the two subsequent outings.  Rough topo of the route. Most of P1 is not visible in this photo (estimated with red dotted line).  Possible topo of this route. For original photo, see Gertch's Arch main page.
