Comments: This route was originally rated 5.6 in the old Ament guide. I won't say it's that easy but if you stem between the crack and the edge of the flake to the right and than cross left at the top it's much easier than 5.8. Done this way the crux actually seems to be 3rd short pitch.

Comments: Way Fun Route with cool exposure at the top - but the mid-point belay does not seem to be in line with the natural line of holds. I found myself making way thin moves left to reach the belay. I was able to protect this with a small Friend, but without gear I would have been sketched. I'd recommend doing it as 1 long pitch.

Comments: Although a bit contrived - avoiding the flake offers a great sequence of edges to the anchors - probably 10a, lots of fun!

Comments: I've got to agree with Sergio - I don't see how this area could be "closed". Based on the map above, the boulders are clearly on FS land. The FS also lists Fall River Reservoir on their website providing directions which match those given above: fs.usda.gov/recarea/arp/recare....

This seems to be a case of someone claiming ownership of a public road.

Comments: The arrow showed up after the flake which used to be used to start the climb from straight below the bolt fell off. I've assumed it was someone trying to point out the left hand hold for the new start...

Comments: Fun route! Glad it's here and I will do it again....
BUT, what's up with the epoxied bolts? It's my understanding that it's pretty well-established that sealing mechanical bolts in with epoxy/glue/caulk does not prevent water getting in but prevents water that is seeping from within the rock from draining from the hole, hence worsening corrosion issues. The developer has established numerous routes without the epoxy, so I am wondering about this recent trend. Care to elaborate, Michael?
