Glad to see I was able to make your topos accurate finally-guess you can take that claim off your work.

Ouch. Really? Guideline #1 perhaps?

Comments: As always, thanks for the great topos TooFast!

If only there were a link whereby one could contribute to the TooFast memorial fund to show their appreciation for all the years of free topos...

Comments: Thanks for the notice Kevin! :)

How about we move the last rap station? Seems like a better option than leaving ropes up there to rot and trash the place up. Fwiw, I'm pretty sure a rope is visible from much further away than a couple painted rap hangers.

For the last pitch clip up the 3 bolts and then just go way over the top to belay. No cams or gear needed as you will be laying on the summit to belay.

Just out of curiosity, what would the plan be if you needed to escape a belay without an anchor? With a 1-2" horizontal crack directly behind you, is there any technical reason to not slam a couple cams in or is it just a time saving/speed thing?

Comments: 5.8, LOL! And ppl call ME a sandbagger. The traverse left of the 2nd bolt is protected well by the bolt but a 5.8 rating is just asking for hatemail and/or injured climbers. I pulled it clean but not by much. After that, yes, there's a heady runout on easier ground but if you're comfortable on 'chise runouts, you probably won't mind much. It's your follower that'll be looking at a big swinging fall if they come off at the crux, just after cleaning the 2nd bolt.

Comments: Spoiler beta: We tunneled under the rock he's straddling here and didn't rope up until we were standing on top the boulder above his head in the photo. Can't say the climbing he's on now is necessarily worth it since we didn't really cover it but it didn't seem like it at the time. That "pitch" (for lack of a better term) ended up being about 12 feet of actual climbing and one piece of gear in our case.

Comments: Glad you all are ok Climberz!

Could this be a mixed metals/galvanic corrosion scenario? Fairly big difference between the rust levels on hanger and bolt. Possibly galvanized or stainless hanger and carbon steel bolt?

Comments: I am perplexed as to how all you skinny bastards are fitting through that wedge. I got my fat ass stuck, shredded my shirt, broke my sunglasses and scratched my arms all to hell before finally getting back out and I'm only 170 pounds and just shy of 6 feet tall.

Comments: P1 is a technical challenge off the deck for two bolts then it's a well-protected 5.7 run to the ledge. Our party broke two holds off the 3rd pitch - I would recommend not soloing anything there or on p2 for that matter.. your choice.

The rest of the route after the vegetated ledge is pure gold. Build anchor at piton belay with #2 (up high) and #3 plus the piton. That frees up all your .5-1" doubles for the last pitch.

As stated before, there's lots of potential for stuck rope... more >>
