More information:
I was in the Marine Corps infantry from 2007-2015 and served 2 tours in Afghanistan from 2010 - 2012. I am now studying to go to medical school and currently work as a medical scribe in a level I trauma center in central Phoenix.

I learned to climb on gear in Joshua Tree National Park in 2012 from a buddy of mine who was a mountain warfare instructor for the Marines. Shortly thereafter, I took two full-day private lessons with an AMGA guide through Bob Gaines' company to cover multi-pitch and self-rescue skills. Since then I've been predominantly trad climbing when time allows for it, and slowly but surely moving more into the alpine scene.

Safety is extremely important to me, which includes being realistic about your abilities and experience. Just because you climb hard, doesn't mean you're necessarily safe or proficient in basic systems. I have no problems climbing with or passing on what I know to beginners or those with less experience, I just want to know who I am climbing with before we rope up. I think my biggest pet peeve in meeting new climbing partners is people who advertise themselves as something they aren't.

The diving board after the storm passed over us.  Route topo with pitch break down, note P1 is only a 5.0 scramble up the 3/4 divide between Spires 3 and 4. Approximate location of bolted anchors noted in red. This picture is taken from the Cathedral Spires main trail from the north side (back side) facing south.
