More information:
I was in the Marine Corps infantry from 2007-2015 and served 2 tours in Afghanistan from 2010 - 2012. I am now a full time undergrad student pursuing a career in medicine, and currently work as a medical scribe in the emergency department of a level I trauma center in Phoenix.

I learned to climb on gear in Joshua Tree in 2012 from a buddy of mine who was a mountain warfare instructor for the Marines. Shortly thereafter, I sought out the instruction of an AMGA guide through Bob Gaines' company to cover multi-pitch and self-rescue skills. Since then, I've moved into the summer alpine and big wall scenes.

Safety is extremely important to me, which includes being realistic about your abilities and experience. I have no problems climbing with or passing on what I know to beginners or those with less experience, I just want to know who I am climbing with before we rope up.

The approach. Follow the green line. The junction where you split right up the final approach wash is hard to find so just be diligent. If you find yourself scrambling up sketchy 4th class+ climbing, you are likely in the wash to the left and need to move further right. We made this mistake and found ourselves at the base of a 30 ft dried up waterfall.  The diving board after the storm passed over us.  Route topo with pitch break down, note P1 is only a 5.0 scramble up the 3/4 divide between Spires 3 and 4. Approximate location of bolted anchors noted in red. This picture is taken from the Cathedral Spires main trail from the north side (back side) facing south. Note Spire 1 on the far right.  Elicia Hunt on the upper dihedral of Mayflower.  No hands rest.
