Comments: Protection: wired nuts, fixed copperheads, cams to 1.5". Back up the 3 belay/TR pins with great wires. This would be R/X if led without fixing gear and slings. - Mark Johnson

Comments: Briar patch supposedly starts about 12 ft right of Quill in a crack, traverses right to a rest, then continues up to top out through a small corner.

Comments: Supposedly starts in a small left facing corner. Then head up and right to a ledge, then to the top.

Comments: Simple... you climb harder than that person or in a different style. And with West Rock, enough rock was removed from some routes that it is either a different route now or obvious that the line was never climbed. From your comments it seems like you're having difficult time understanding the extensive history of our area. Try getting you hands on a copy of Yankee Rock and Ice. Rock climbing in the USA started with clubs like Yale and Harvard Outdoor clubs in the 1920&#... more >>

Comments: Adam... that makes it a contrived problem like an eliminate which, unfortunately that's not the point of bouldering. Climbers or folks putting up FAs don't needlessly make problems difficult. That's why we have the whole process of grade confirmation. Someone comes along with different beta which unlocks easier sequences which in turn down grades the problem. Saying well you HAVE to use this hold is an odd stance in climbing.
