Comments: Tristan downgrading to 5.8. You're an animal.

I need to go climb this thing again fully equipped without a ton of shift to carry along. You are probably right that it's soft.

Comments: Keep in mind you may be within the first 5 people to touch the route. It's a shame it will never get enough traffic to get cleaned up now that your comment is here.

Comments: You can see "The Adventure Route" on the arete n the back ground. First pitch (5.9) is the sunny arête through the trees that wraps around the belayers head. The second pitch (5.11d) is in the sun.

Comments: Thanks for the heads up about the break ins. Do you know how long you'd beeen parked before they broke in? I wonder if they are just watching people walk away from their car then breaking in. If you have a third person, maybe have them hide in the brush for a few minutes while the other two people in your party start leading the first pitch.

Climbers are crafty. It would be cool if we could collectively catch a few of these guys at the climbing lots. I had a bike stolen out of my car on... more >>

Comments: A friend went to a "climbing in zion" slide show in the 90's at Outdoor Outlet. Ron said there was a route near one in one of the slides from the back of theroom. He then proceeded to point it out with a laser pointer. When people turned around to see him talking they saw the laser pointer was actually a laser scope attached to the pistol he was packing that night. . . lots of memorable "Ron O" stories. Glad I was in Southern Utah at a time to hear them.

Comments: I don't really have a strong feeling about carving names into small rocks at the base. It's way better than carving it into the wall. I'd bet if you picked up the desert vaurnet Rock and threw it down the hill as hard as you can no one would ever have known it was there. These little blocks at the base of routes were essentially mountain project before the Internet.

Comments: Good and pumpy route. Really nice pitch to climb past the anchor and clip 5.9 green bolts to the upper anchor. Hit it up now while it's chalked/ticked so you don't waste too much energy deciding which holds to use. There's good feet if you don't forget to use them. The cobbles here have more friction than maple canyon.

Follow it up this pitch with a lead on Sloppy Second for a nice choss guzzle with a cool top out. I pulled a lone bail sling off the second to last bolt. I th... more >>

Comments: Sounds like you've got a dull drill bit. In hard stone a few holes per bit is reasonable.

Comments: Fun route. Like blown glass, there's air bubble holes all over that form sweet pockets not usually seen in BCC.

For those calling this and .11. . . Go take some practice laps on This

And harden the f@:0( up.

Ha ha just kidding. It felt good to clip the first bolt.

Nice route. Thanks for the bolts to clip.
