Comments: Fun little variant on this headwall, hard 3/easy&short 4, a couple of 16s will do, the sticks are good so you won't fall anyway. Goes up to right side of a boulder w/ 3 bolts. Dinner plate special on the topout, not much you can do, just yell.

Comments: Man, George, I spent some time trying to figure out which pic was the "Great" one. This whole route submittal is really good; but I'm with you, this is scary!!!

(Doh! chicken wire)

Comments: Yes, Olaf, that is what some of us are trying to avoid. (RE: bringing the routes down).

The trouble is that this is place is seeing more frequent use by way of the standard 5.7 route. In itself, that's a not bad thing because it's a fun protectable route that isn't really affected by how many people want to climb it. The trouble is climber traffic going down which has taken a manner away from the established side gully and onto the face and potentially over a leader. If no-one else is climbing... more >>

Comments: Referring to the description provided - this is a mixed-pro climb for a lead; not a runout sport climb.

Dude, to try this line without fixed pro; that was sick, man!

Comments: John, that is really cool.

What are we looking at? (i.e. specific "type?" of scorpion)

Comments: Any chance you snuck a quick solo this winter???

Anyhoo, that climber's left overhanging variant finish is kinda visible here (the start is). It's a good technical finish if a person wanted just one more trad section instead of the keyhole.

Comments: Great Line! with a nice rest to fire the crux which had good sticks & nice sustained moves. We caught it in good shape. I thought was about 45-50M overall (but has a ramp & rest area) -- not typical length when working the other of the 5 fingers. This route seemed to be tempermental and may not be of great quality all the time, but we got it at as a gem, lucky us! The crux could be trying to start the rap, you'd have to do it to see what I'm talking about.

Comments: Notice at all times, the 10 essentials are at the ready for any mission, 24/7; no rock climber shall fear: rain, snow, sleet, nor the dead of winter whilst on patrol.

Comments: Yeah, start the hole with your tool pick, make sure your screws are sharp, & place screws in body positions where you get leverage and have good balance; you will need to overpower the ice bonding.

Looks like a fun section.

Comments: This is a real good beta vantage of the entire Falls area. One thing that is odd is the upper right pillar is not in, which is usually not the case. Water is weird!!!

Comments: I'm also saying she's cool, even though her brake hand is not entirely visible, I don't see a problem with the hand positions nor rigging.

She's also looking down & has good body balance to start the vertical section, not too shabby for a first rap.

Comments: Oh, you needed a belay? Sh*t man, I thought you were just draggin the cords up; I was just making sure they weren't tangled for us to use.

Which side of the device does the brake hand go on again???

Comments: Here's another contrived variant to try, come in from left to right on those thin seams, small nuts & RPs. There's a couple of key finger locks.
