Description Suggest change

For people who don't want to climb the crack. Start standing in the crack, but instead climb up to the small shelf on the right. Climb until the top of the crack, then go over it entirely onto the top of the left (main) part of the boulder with the caves beneath it. It's easier to climb back down the same way you came, but beware as the ground beneath the boulder is extremely slanted no matter where you go on it as it's on a steep hillside.

Location Suggest change

Walk on the main path towards the City Rock area past Pete's Rock. It is the first big boulder on the hillside to your left. If it helps, there is a stretch of the main trail for the Mt. Olympus hike that goes right over the top of this boulder, but doesn't fully connect to it.

Once you're standing in front of Old Pin Boulder, with your back to the road, walk to the rightmost side of the boulder and you will see the large crack and shelf.

Protection Suggest change

One crash pad and a very attentive spotter who won't let you roll down the hillside
