General NPS climbing regulations for RMNP posted here.
Description
Start sitting, matched on rough edges, and make a powerful move up and left. The first move is the crux, then you get sustained climbing after. Move up and left after the first move through some bad crimps. Finish around the corner out left.
This is on par with Tommys Arete, one of the best moderates in the park. It is a must do if you are in the area.
Location
From the Bear Lake Parking lot, hike 0.5 miles to Nymph Lake. Continue on the trail for 0.25 miles, past big, open views of Long's Peak. The trail will make a hard right up some steps. Continue on the trail as it bends back left, up a small hill over some log steps. At the top of the rise, 25 yards beyond the hard right and just before the trail goes downhill to a bridge over a stream, cut off right and up a hill on a socail trail. Walk North, then northwest, following the drainage for 100 yards to a small, shallow pond. The White Wizard Boulder is the massive boulder on the opposite (northwest) corner of the pond.
