Description Suggest change

Direct start to Laying Down On The Job. Stem up the chimney, clipping 3 bolts. As the stem gets very wide under the roof, swing over to the side for the roof finish of Laying Down on the Job.

This route had occasionally been done back in the days as a TR-only climb.

NOTE: The difficulty of this climb is very height dependent, and may feel very difficult (to basically impossible) if you are very short. The crux is swinging out of a full body bridge to get established for the roof topout. If you are tall and somewhat flexible you might never really have to do the body bridge and just cruise up. If you are very short, the key hold in the roof might be out of reach, thus making the climb much harder. At 5'9'', the climb felt about 5.10- to me, but it almost seems silly to give it a single grade.

Location Suggest change

Directly roadside on the right side when going up, just across the road from Hamburger Crack. Scramble down the chimney under the roof itself, or walk around from a little lower on the road.

Protection Suggest change

Gear anchor for toprope/lowering takes medium cams (~BD 0.5 to 2). 3 bolts and 1 or 2 medium-sized cams for the lead.
