Access Issue: Details

Please continue to be good land stewards and mindful of LADWP.

1) Never park or camp overnight at the access points.
2) Always park off the pavement, taking great care to avoid blocking the gates.
3) Clean up after your dogs. (Local climbers are finding abandoned doggie poop bags.)
4) Pack out all trash and TP, including picking up after others.
5) Use the outhouses if at all possible.

Description

Bouldery 4-bolt extension to Lava Haul, Pandora, or Caldera. Finishes at the upper anchor of Return to Cinder at 40m. Could provide a somewhat easier means to get a rope on the crux of RTC.

Directly above Lava Haul and Pandora

Protection

4 bolts plus whatever you choose to link in from, 2 extra draws if starting on Caldera. Long draws/extension and back-cleaning recommend whenever possible to reduce drag on the crux at ~38m

Do you guys cut straight left after the nice face climbing. I tried going straight up and fell off. Maybe I missed something? Apr 2, 2026

Yeah go left, merging with RTC after the last bolt. Extending or back-cleaning draws on LH and right above the first anchor when possible is helpful. You could probably add an independent direct finish if you wanted to at like 12+ or something I imagine haha Apr 2, 2026
