Description Suggest change

P1: The air duct! Climb up a small step and into the triangular tunnel. Climb this easy chimney until it opens onto a ledge, then either go directly up the friable face (5.5) or step right around some bushes and up easy ledges before stepping back right over the chimney to build a belay at a low angle corner. 35m, low 5th class.

P2: Climb up the fun, easy corner using juggy huecos on the left face. Belay on a great ledge with a small bush. 20m, a few moves of 5.6 but mostly easier.

P3:  4 star pitch! From the back of this ledge, climb up a fun slab with intermittent cracks for protection to a blocky roof. Bomber gear protects the burly moves past the roof. Continue up a short distance  to another great ledge, this one partially choked with scrub oak--build a belay past the scrub oak in a short chimney system. 20m, 5.9.

P4: Either move the belay up the chimney (4th class) to the next ledge, or start from the back of the chimney. Either way, a short pitch leads up a cool water groove with good edges, trickier than it looks. Step left to yet another great ledge. 15m, 5.7.

Descent: walk left along this ledge to a 4th class corner/chimney system. Downclimb this a short distance and you'll find yourself at the base of OB Fist/OB Button. Keep going past the OBs until you find the easy chimney with the single bolt--a short rap and a little more scrambling down and you're back in the wash. Less than an hour back to the base of the route!

Location Suggest change

This route starts just out of the wash, about halfway between the start of CITH and the scramble up to the OB routes. Stay in the wash until you're directly below the P2 corner, then look for a little nook just out of the wash--the air duct pitch climbs to the right out of this nook.
