License Plate

V4+, Boulder, 10 ft (3 m),  Avg: 4 from 1 vote
FA: unknown
Connecticut > CT Bouldering > Mianus Park > Old Mill Lane Boulder…

Description

This climb is awesome— one of my favorites in the park. These two massive chunks of rock are the gift that keeps on giving. We called it License Plate because one of our buddies parked on the road by the trail "non" entrance (illegally), and within 10 minutes, someone was snapping a picture of his plate while we were working the route. Gave us a good laugh!

The boulder starts with a solid right foot and a left foot flag, along with a good right-hand undercling and a less solid left-hand crimp. From there, head to the right side using the "sloper" and climb up the slab part of the boulder to the topout holds.

Location

It is on boulder B (the one closest to the tennis courts) to the left of Meeting Myano

Protection

Two pads covers the entire fall zone, you can squeak by with just one placed under the top out, to the right of the start.

Me and my friends are just getting into outdoor bouldering so the grade might be either soft or sandbagged. For reference it felt loads easier than Kaleidoscope V6 and a little harder than Cave Again V4, if anyone tries it let me know what you think! Also not sure if this has been climbed before (odds are probably) let me know and I can edit the FA :) Trying to show some more love to this park! Nov 11, 2024

[Hide Comment] Welcome to climbing outside! Psyched to see it. Just a tip: it’s better not to post move by move beta in the description. Not only do most folks use different beta outside (it’s all “on”), but many folks want to figure out the “problem” on their own. Just the starting hand holds and a general description of the line is the norm. Something like “start at the undercling and trend right”. Also, see Morgan’s comment in your photo. In general, great work! And thanks for posting! Nov 24, 2024
