Description Suggest change

This is the arete on the left side of the Buttress that forms Connecticut Cracks. It’s a bit lichenous, has a couple creaky flakes, and is generally obscure. If you’re like me and enjoy that kinda thing, take the time to check out this interesting pitch.

The easiest way to set this up is to lead the first pitch of Precipice Ledges, build a gear anchor with hand sized pieces, and lower down. The route starts with some tricky pulls to get established on the arete. Mantle to a ledge, and follow a ladder of positive edges up the left side of the arete. Where they start to peter out, the second crux begins. Make a balancey sequence, staying on the left side of the arete, until you can move right and mantle into the lichen. Top out and climb to any of the nearby bolted anchors to descend.

Protection Suggest change

TR. The anchor takes hand sized gear in a crack on the big ledge. Be aware of a few creaky flakes on route.
