Booster Direct

5.13a, Sport, 120 ft (36 m),  Avg: 2 from 3 votes
FA: Gary Newmeyer, May 2024
Nevada > Southern Nevada > La Madre Range > Lake Mead Buttress

Description

Climb Booster Shot to the no-hands rest ledge 2/3 of the way up. From there, head straight up through a short, but powerful, vicious, & sequential crux sequence.

Protection

12 draws (+3 fixed draws on route). A few longer draws or unclipping a few behind you can be helpful.

One 70m works, but you better have a knot in the end. You will be at the end of your rope!

Location

Right of Super Spreader 35. Red bolts starting up a slab.

[Hide Comment] A few notes:
- Why not add permas in the crux? It seems like there isn’t a need for permas on some of the easier terrain.
- Kinda strange bolt placement in the crux too, extending a draw worked well but still kinda weird.
- The lower part of the route climbs well but isn’t as clean as I was entirely expecting. It’s not bad but definitely some crumbly feet.
- Probably easier than the suggested grade. Feb 12, 2025
