Better as an "add-on" to a great Spring corn skiing mission - three fat & enjoyable ice flows form in a basin south and above the Weeks Creek drainage. Each are approximately 100' in length with the climbers left flow being the widest and perhaps best. You can rap off zero threads at top of steepest sections with a 60m or continue up rambling WI2 sections to the ridgeline then downclimb (or do two raps with a 60m)...a 70m might make it in one rap but who wants to bring a 70m four+ miles and 4k feet? Three fun, easy solos for strong/experienced ice climbers.
South on Highway 93 out of Wells, Nevada turn right on Clover Valley Road then look for the Weeks Access road (chained gate - PLEASE CLOSE after entering and exiting or you could jeopardize access into the eastern slopes! Local ranchers have provided a number of right of ways for hikers and backcountry skiers. This road in particular crosses a private ranch. Please stay on road, try to avoid parking and definitely no camping till you hit public lands approx. 3-4 miles in. Be careful of driving on early morning snow as it's very easy to get stuck on the way out. Regardless, be prepared with traction boards, steel shovel and/or winch system. High Clearance vehicle highly recommended.
Couple of screws, long screw with v-thread tool for naked/zero thread - keep it clean out there!
