Description Suggest change

A nice romp up an arete leads to a fun move to surmount an overhang to reach a bolted anchor. This route has good views of the surrounding Bear Creek Valley the whole way. It has 4 bolts, but at least some trad gear is required. This is the preferred start to climb the DH overhang route, because it skips the chossy beginning of that climb. This climb is adequately protected with trad placements here and there while away from the bolts. Climb up the arete or just to the right of it.

Location Suggest change

It ascends the prominent arete on the west face of Dakota Hogback. Look for the first bolt on the slightly overhanging start.

Protection Suggest change

A single set of BD cams #0.2-3 and nuts if you really want to sew it up. A finger-size cam is required for the crux overhang/traverse move up top. A confident leader could lead this with a #0.4,  #2 cam, two alpine draws, and 4 sport draws.
