Description Suggest change

Like the A-10, this route packs a punch. This climb is a variation to Hog Heaven, meets that route around bolt 3 or 4, and finishes on the same anchors. Well-protected, bouldery, and overhanging moves from bolts 1-3 require powerful and delicate moves to surmount the crux. After bolt 3, clip the old piton (if you like), and either use a long length runner to reach around left and clip bolt 3 of Hog Heaven or run it out a bit on 5.8/9 terrain to bolt 4 of Hog Heaven.

One can stickclip the first (or maybe even the second) bolt, but a climber can clip the first bolt before committing to the face even at 5’6” tall.

Location Suggest change

It is located on the prominent and overhanging arete on the north end of Dakota Hogback.

Protection Suggest change

8 bolts total including one piton and including if you clip bolt 3 of Hog Heaven. Bring 1-2 alpine runners to extend the piton (optional) and the third bolt of Hog Heaven (recommended).
