VAN CAMPING / WILD CAMPING
Within District Boundaries
The District of Squamish PROHIBITS camping within the municipal boundary. This includes sleeping in a vehicle anywhere within District boundaries. A bylaw gives the District the power to issue tickets for contraventions.
Camping on urban / residential streets is prohibited under pre-existing bylaws.
The “hot spots” that have been of most concern are below.
· The whole of the Mamquam Forest Service Road under the North Walls of the Chief between the junction with the 99 and junction with the Stawamus/Indian Arm Forest Service Road (as a salmon run and sensitive riparian area, camping close to the Stawamus River is especially inappropriate)
· The Powerhouse Springs Road including the parking area for the Fern Hill cliff
· The dirt road to the kitesurfing “Spit.”
Outside of District Boundaries
If you explore forest roads in crown land outside the municipal boundaries, it may be possible to find discreet roadside sites suitable for tents or van camping. However, the provincial authorities do have some restrictions ;
· Stays are limited to 14 days.
· Campers should follow Leave No Trace principles. HUMAN WASTE is a major issue.
· Strictly observe any current fire bans.

Description
Adding this as a distinct entry given there are a number of routes that form on the AMO wall and each climbs differently.
The line described here is the leftmost of the three lines that form in a large corner feature about 3 minutes hike climber's left and uphill of the base of the actual AMO Wall with established rock climbing routes. If the ice is there, the routes will be obvious.
P1 - WI3-4, 30m - Climb up what can be a steep pillar for about 10 meters before topping out onto a low angle ledge and then rambling up easy ice to a tree belay.
P2 - WI3, 70m - Climb one long rope stretcher start with a steeper step into easy ice, finishing with another steeper step to a tree belay with a bunch of tat. Rappel here if you have double 70s or take it to the top.
P3 - WI2-3, 20m - Climb a shorter pitch into the woods (may need to finish by pulling on some bushes to get over the final rock) and belay off a tree.
If you took it to the end, unrope and bushwack traversing directly climber's right through the trees until you come across a trail that runs along the left side of Shannon Falls. Follow this down to the tourist trail and back to the parking lot.
