Lodgepole

5.12b, Sport, 75 ft (23 m),  Avg: 2.5 from 4 votes
FA: Adam Levine
Colorado > Morrison/Evergr… > Gretel's Rock

Description

Climb the shared bolts through the choss, and find a stance below the arete. Here it's possible to clip the higher bolt and regain the stance.

Use the arete to ascend, and find supplementary holds in the varying crack to the right. Mantel the lip (the mental and technical crux), take a breath and one more step, and place a perfect 0.5 cam in the horizontal. Climb easy ground (5.6) to the hooks.

Location

On the center of the south side of Gretel's Rock, this line ascends the arete to the left of Red Herring.

Protection

6 quickdraws and an optional 0.5 cam for the low angle ground above the mantel & last bolt.
