The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description
Start up the slab under the crack on the North Face of the boulder. You can also get your hand to the bottom of the crack at the same time. Shimmy up and pull yourself through using the right portion of the boulder. A little scary but a good starter climb.
