HUMAN WASTE: Human waste is a major issue plaguing the area. The Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition (SNCC) works to provide "wag bags" free of charge in several locations: Black Velvet Canyon, The Hamlet, Kraft Mountain Area, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor. These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out. Consider bringing one to be part of your daily kit no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly. Do not throw them in the toilets at the parking areas.
See https://www.southernnevadaclimbers.org/wag-bags for more information on the program.
Description
Full Disclosure is somewhat of a choose-your-own-adventure climb that connects crags from Ash Canyon to the summit of Tank Peak in the Calico Hills. In this way you can choose the specific climbs/pitches/grades that you want to climb. It will present you with many of the challenges you'll encounter when doing a bigger multipitch climb in the canyons, i.e. approaching, route finding, time management, descent finding, etc., but on a smaller scale. It's fairly low risk with many opportunities to bail early, bolted anchors, and being in Calico Hills, not far from civilization.
It's close to a 1000 vertical feet of elevation gain from the canyon floor to the summit with great views, and, because you're connecting crags, more potential pitches than most climbers can do in a single day. With 15 quickdraws and a 50m rope you can get to the summit and walk off. (If you want to crag along the way some specific routes/pitches may require a 70m.)
The general idea is to start at the Ashbrow just off the canyon floor, then climb the Fringe to the Midway ledges. Walk the lower Midway ledge over to Midway crag and top out a route there to the base of Disclosure proper. Climb Disclosure to the summit. Described below is one option that goes at 10b. See each route's individual section for a complete pitch by pitch description, or to determine your own route.
Pitch 1 (5.10a): Climb Tetrarch at the Ashbrow to the base of the Fringe.
Pitch 2 (5.10b) and pitch 3 (5.10a): Climb Sendimental at the Fringe. At the top of the route, scramble up 15' to the lower Midway ledge.
Walk the lower Midway ledge to the right/northwest for about 500' to Midway crag.
Pitch 4 (5.10a/b): Climb Minced Oath to anchors on the upper Midway ledge. Move the belay about 30' up the ledge next to a large pine tree.
Pitches 5-9 (5.9): Climb Disclosure to the summit.
Descent: Walk off to the southeast as described in the Tank Peak, East Face main page.
