Description
This fun crack climb has been recently cleaned, and is now a fine route at its grade.
Climb easy ground up to the base of the right side of the huge flake. Solid protection is found in the crack to the right of this flake. Once atop the flake, a few difficult, but very well-protected moves gain a small low-angled ramp. Do not go left here, but move right, up the small ramp, to reach a shallow left-facing corner.
Once up this short feature, there are two choices. 1) Move left across easy face to the “ear” (a well-protected, right-facing flared chimney), and ascend this, or 2) stay right and climb the hand crack to a move left to gain the ledge on top of the “ear.” A few last moves gain a stance and the anchors below the prominent roof. Pro to 3”, 70 feet.
Location
The start of the route is found just uphill from the two aspen trees that have curved trunks coming nearly out of the cliff’s base. These aspens are found approximately 60 feet right of the start of The Main Attraction. Just past these two trees is a small, flat area; look up to find the right side of a giant, thick flake located about 15 feet up.
