Follow existing trails and climb using removable protection or in climbing areas with existing approved fixed anchors or bolts. Development of any new rock climbing, bouldering or rappelling areas and development of any climbing routes involving the permanent installation of new fixed anchors or new trail construction requires prior Forest Service authorization.
Description
This traverse was mentioned in one of Martin Hackworth's guidebooks. In my early days of climbing Bob Callahan told me about it and said it would be good training when I couldn't find a climbing partner, so I went and started working it.
Begin at the base of the crack of Africa and traverse left staying a few feet above the ground. For a 5.9 outing drop off at the first corner (Anti-Gravity Acrobatics) or bump up the number grade a couple notches and move on over to the crack of Arachnid.
