Description Suggest change

A moderate, well protected route up good rock that provides access to the final lengths of the popular Petit Charmoz traverse.

P1. Start at a nice flake leading to a hand crack after which tend right into a groove

P2. Follow the groove to the base of a headwall

P3. Surmount headwall and traverse hard left on an easy ramp to the base of a steep corner system

P4-6.  Continue up corner system to eventually arrive at crest

P6+.  Traverse the crest to arrive at the final headwall to the summit...the original pitch of which has been destroyed by rockfall.  Most opt to descend from here now

Location Suggest change

The P1 crack is highly distinguishable in the middle of the southwest face approx 75 yards north of the classic chimney route.

Protection Suggest change

Alpine rack, double length slings
