Description Suggest change

Great linville adventure climbing with mostly good rock, and some spots of lichen. Mandatory 20-30’ runouts, not unlike other NC adventure routes. Completed ground up in 2 days. 5/13/2022, 6/4/2023

FA Wes Calkins, Forrest Stavish; p1-2, Adrian Movrin; p3-4

P1.start on a ledge with a boulder 150’ climbers left of the daddy. Follow a seam until directly below a large detached flake. Trend up and left following gear and 1 bolt and holds until you reach an obvious horizontal that splits the whole wall. 35meters total length.

5.9

P2. Straight up and staying to the right of the false mummy. Cross a vertical moss jungle. After this one last exciting roof pull deposits you at a stance on the false mummy. Take care when engineering the belay. There is loose caprock that could be disturbed if gear was placed behind it. 28 meters.

5.8+R

P3. Traverse right 20’ then head up a funky dihedral with a steep move to get established. Once over the initial 30’ things open up nicely. Belay at a large mossy ledge. A better protected pitch for the route, with some creativity. 25meters

5.8

P4. Climb to the right and then up. The face slabs into vertical, to the right of the large broken crack systems. Climb the amazing vertical face with horizontals, to the left of the hanging block. Pitch ends at a 10” pine tree. 5.8

45meters
