Description Suggest change

Katie's Cap climbs a short #1 to #5-sized crack. Jam or layback off the ground until you can get over the rim and into the wide bit for the topout.

Walk off on the back side

Bring a pad (a trifold is nice) and a solid spotter. Falling would send you down the hill into the scree.

Location Suggest change

Head about a third of the way up the hill on the north side of Salty Canyon. It is within one of the larger boulder piles and is marked by a healthy juniper growing out of the sandstone a few feet uphill from the climb.

Protection Suggest change

Crashpads and a spotter.
